Ingredients

Every ingredient in Organic Matters is chosen for a specific purpose - either to protect your skin from UV, support skin comfort, or ensure the formula remains stable and effective in real-world conditions.

We don’t use ingredients for marketing appeal alone, and we don’t include anything that isn’t doing a job.

Active ingredient

Zinc oxide (25%)
A non-nano mineral UV filter that provides broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays. Zinc oxide sits on the surface of the skin and reflects UV radiation, rather than being absorbed into the skin.

This is the only UV filter used in Organic Matters.

Key supporting ingredients

Hyaluronic acid
A humectant that helps the skin retain moisture and improves comfort during wear. It does not contribute to UV protection.

Ascorbyl palmitate (vitamin C derivative)
A stable, oil-soluble form of vitamin C that supports antioxidant protection and formula stability.

Kakadu plum (Terminalia ferdinandiana) extract
A naturally antioxidant-rich botanical used to support the formula’s antioxidant system.

Bisabolol
A soothing ingredient commonly used to help reduce skin discomfort.

Calendula officinalis extract
A botanical extract traditionally used to support sensitive or reactive skin.

Ingredient FAQs

Why is maltodextrin included?
Maltodextrin is used in very small amounts as a carrier for botanical extracts. It does not act as a filler or sweetener and has been included in both the old and new formulations.

Is this formula fragrance-free?
The formula contains no added synthetic fragrance. Some botanical ingredients have a mild natural scent, which can vary slightly between batches.

Is this reef or ocean friendly?
Organic Matters uses non-nano zinc oxide as its only UV filter and contains no chemical UV filters known to harm marine environments.

Why does the formula feel different from the previous version?
The updated formula includes hyaluronic acid and a revised antioxidant system, which can change how the sunscreen feels during application. Protection remains the same.

Ingredient lists can look long, but most of these components exist to ensure the sunscreen is safe, stable, and effective in real-world use - not just in a lab.
